The largest green sea turtle congregations in Australia occurs at Raine Island on the Northern Great Barrier Reef. Thousands of females crawl onto teh sialnd to lay their eggs on this tiny sand cay. They carwl back into the sea and mate with males that have gatherd aroudn the isalnd.
